They will promise you purpose and it will look like purpose, but you will learn that nothing is as it seems.
They will say they care for you and simultaneously shirk all responsibility for you.
They will be seductive and their seduction shall be vast.
They will rely on your desperation.
And orchestrate the danger that brings you desperation.
They will study you well so that they can provide what you tell yourself will mend you. They will shows it to you and gives you a few dreams from their cloak.
They will always be early, so you never wait for things on an on time schedule.
They will ask for your commitment and loyalty and in exchange they will promise to meet your needs.
They will often falls short but it will be in ways you cannot name.
They will wear the cloak of goodness yet underneath that very cloak, they will conceal so much.
They will sell you a dream. The kind of dream hopeful people think will heal / mend them. The kind of dream you think will finally keep you safe.
They will call from every corner. They will hound you.
They will convince you that you are happy but slowly what they conceal will eat at you.
You will think they cannot corrupt you.
Though the first thing they will corrupts is your senses.
They will separate you from the people they claim they will help bind you to. The very same people you told yourself you were building for.
They will demand sameness and adulation out of you.
And Your ancestors will send you dings.
You will miss all the alerts.
They will rescue you as long as you are of use.
But it won’t be for free.
They will appease you even when they punish so that you never forget that they are good.
They will have you question whether you have a bad nose.
Gradually, they will encourages you to change. To be more open. To deny sick children and yell at waiters. To take opportunities. To cut a throat.
You will be celebrated when you change.
You will have missed the safety inside of you and learned that all the world’s a place. A place like milk & honey.
